Prospect Art Walk | 18 & 19 Aug 2023

Thaw your senses on the Prospect Art Walk – a whimsical journey through Prospect’s vibrant art world.

Mark your calendars for Friday 18 and Saturday 19 August 2023, when Prospect Art Walk will take over Prospect’s streets, laneways, hidden nooks and local businesses with exciting art activations and immersive experiences. From 5pm – 9pm each night, the precinct will be painted in colour and light, with live painted and augmented reality murals.

You can also indulge in delicious food and drinks at local businesses with live music, fire pits and displays to warm you on your journey.

This free, all-ages, self-guided event promises to be a feast for the eyes and an adventure for the soul.

Program of events:

  • Live art by renowned street artist KAB101 in Honeysuckle/KAB101 Lane
  • Live art by Ella Simpson from Ink and Ruby Studios at Wassail Wine Bar
  • Live music from Suedan at Café Komodo (7pm – 10pm Friday only)
  • Live music by Mark Curtis (Fri night only, 6pm – 9pm) and art on display by Geoffrey Stapleton at Wassail Wine Bar
  • “Home is where the heART is” colouring competition exhibition at Century 21 City Inner North at Prospect
  • Local artists pop-up exhibitions in local businesses
  • Open fire pits & heaters to keep you warm
  • Augmented Reality (AR) Murals from Polymorphic – watch through your phone as six beloved existing murals along Prospect Road change before your very eyes
  • Free caricature drawings from Art by Boky
  • A special new AR experience featuring iconic Statue of David and favourite mascot, Lazer Cat
  • Fire performances and Coal Tree fire sculptures by Dragon Mill – School of Fire Art
  • Pop-up bars by Sideways Liquor Co (Vine St) and Anchovy Bandit (Rose St)
  • Pop-up woodfire pizza oven by Anchovy Bandit in Rose St
  • The Cannoli Box Co. serving up delicious treats
  • Free ‘Mad Hatter’ party hat making workshop in Payinthi with Prospect Library
  • Free entry Silent Disco at Payinthi in Eliza Hall – in collaboration with Blackfriars Priory School DJ’s, plus arcade games such as Mortal Kombat, Pacman, NBA jam mini, big buck hunter, terminator and pin ball machines
  • What Art you Chalking about? – Drop-in chalk art workshop for you to make your mark on Myrtle St, with guidance from Lorna of LennieDin Artistry
  • Live mural glass drawings by artist Almendra Trevino and pop-up art exhibit by Melanie Crawford at Palace Nova Cinema Prospect (Level 1)
  • Free community mandala drop-in painting workshop at Paintelaide (Fri only, 5pm – 7.30pm)
  • Live preserved flower installation at Blossom Box Co
  • Pop-up art exhibitions, in partnership with Friends of South Australian School of Art (SASA)
  • Live music on Prospect Road from Sam C of The Beach Bums (Fri night only), Adam Moffatt (Sat night only) plus groovy tunes from DJ’s Tommy Tequila and G Motion in Vine St Plaza, DJ Marco Polo in Myrtle St and DJ Sandy Bunker with the infamous Dumpster Sound System in Rose St.
