The Mount Pleasant Natural Resource Centre Inc. (MPNRC) is a non profit community hub that promotes sustainable living and meaningful environmental connection. They are running the following School Holiday Kids Workshops during the July school holidays:
DIY Stamps – with artist Emma Shobbrook

- Age: 7+

Make your own fantastic set of individual stamps perfect for decorating cards, wrapping paper, or creating your own designs on fabric. A great way to up-cycle polystyrene trays, corks, & bottle tops.
Recreate Rethink Waste Workshop – Recreated Bracelets & Armbands with artist Yvonne Dalton
- Tuesday 15th July 2014 | 10am – 12noon
- Recreate | cnr Phillis St & Showground Terrace, Mount Pleasant
- Age: 8+
- Cost: $13 / child, all materials supplied
- Complimentary Tea/Coffee for parents
Using thick cardboard tubes as a base, participants will make an individual bracelet or armband ready to take home and wear. The cardboard tubes will be cut & shaped, then decorated with an assortment of materials including wool, wire, fabric, lids, paper, buttons, beads, nails, bolds and much more. Children will have the opportunity to learn a variety of cold connect attachment methods including riveting, twitching, as well as more common techniques such as gluing.

- Thursday 17th July 2014 | 10am – 12noon

- Age: 10+
- Cost: $13 / child, all materials supplied
- Complimentary Tea/Coffee for parents
Learn a range of skills, tool use and techniques including pot-rivets, drilling & wire twitching to create a fabulously fantastic creature sculpture. A great way to get creative with a range of colourful plastics and other reclaimed materials.
