Adelaide Festival Centre is hosting two family-friendly workshops during the April school holidays to inspire families and kids to get creative.
Led by prominent South Australian artists, families can learn the art of sustainable art-making with the Re:PLAY – Eco-conscious, Family Friendly Workshops.
In association with Dead Puppets Society, curious and creative kids aged 10-12 can dive into the puppet-making magic behind The Riddle of Washpool Gully at the Visual Theatre Making and Storytelling Workshop.

Visual Theatre Making and Storytelling Workshop
Adelaide Festival Centre in association with Dead Puppet Society presents a special theatre making and storytelling workshop.
Let your imagination soar and prepare for surprises as you explore transforming props, puppet design elements, and the building blocks of location and character.
Facilitated by Dead Puppet Society’s Helen Stephen, this hands-on workshop offers an entrance into the world of visual theatre. Participants will learn fundamental skills they’ll see on stage in The Riddle of Washpool Gully. They will be mentored through the making and staging of scenes using ensemble performance techniques, hand-operated lighting, and exquisite worldbuilding tools.

Families can join a series of vibrant, hands-on drop-in workshops to explore creativity through recycled and repurposed materials.
Led by prominent South Australian artists, these school holiday sessions invite children and their caregivers to dive into sustainable art-making, transforming everyday items into imaginative masterpieces.
Whether you’re layering textures, building sculptures, or painting with unconventional tools, each workshop offers a new way to see beauty in the discarded and create with purpose.

Consider joining in on Wednesday 15 April, for a relaxed crafting session with smaller group sizes, designed to support children with sensory sensitivities and give them the freedom to be their authentic selves.
