Construction works for the Rozelle Reserve playground in Melrose Park are set to kick off on Monday 13 May 2024.
The construction is anticipated to be completed by mid-June (weather permitting). The new playground (which will be fenced) will be installed before the existing one is removed, ensuring that kids still have something fun to play on during the transition. Once the existing playground is removed, the Council will be adding even more amenities including a shelter, BBQ, and picnic settings.
The playground will be relocated to the eastern side of the Reserve to provide an improved recreational space for residents. On the western side, amenities such as the BBQ, picnic table, shelter, and fencing will be added.
Furthermore, the Council has taken note of the community’s request for a toilet within Rozelle Reserve. This will be considered for inclusion in the 2024/25 Budget discussions.
