A recipe for wild fun at Adelaide Zoo during the April School Holidays!
These school holidays families are invited to enjoy a flavour-filled learning adventure at Adelaide Zoo.
Visitors can pick up their Zoo Foods Recipe Book on arrival and explore as they discover what different species eat and why it supports their health and wellbeing. From curious primates to scaly reptiles, each habitat reveals something new.
There’s just one catch. Some of the recipes are missing an ingredient.
As they explore, guests follow their booklet to complete activities, uncover clues and decode the missing ingredients. By solving the puzzles to finish the recipes, they can take them home and recreate their own wild-inspired treats!
Perfect for families, this interactive experience brings together fun, learning and discovery.
Adelaide Zoo is open every day of the school holidays 9:30am – 5pm
Free Flight Bird Show | 11.30am daily on the Central Lawn
Throw out a picnic rug and get the whole family involved in this exciting presentation as a range of species like the Barking Owl and Blue and Gold Macaw soar over your heads.
Get within a whisker and upgrade your visit with an animal experience!
Watch those smiles widen as you feed a gentle giraffe or watch Obi’s impressive jaw munch through treats at Pygmy Hippo Lunchtime. Check out the experiences on offer.

Home to over 2500 animals and 250 species with daily free keeper presentations, a day out at the Zoo is fun for the whole family. Remember, littlies under four years of age can enter the Zoo for free!
You can enter Adelaide Zoo any time from 9.30am on the day of your visit and stay the whole day!
