Semaphore Waterslide

Semaphore Waterslide Complex

The Semaphore Waterslide has been an icon at Semaphore for over 30 years, however from October 2021 it has been closed bu the Port Adelaide Enfield Council.

Review 2013

Originally the waterslide was the sole attraction of the complex until 1998 when the current owner took over and added more entertainment for children to enjoy.  Since then the list of attractions at the Semaphore Waterslide Complex has grown and now includes a Ferris Wheel, Mini Golf, Jumping Castle, Laughing Clowns, Pluck a Duck, BBQ and seating areas.

Located on the Semaphore Foreshore next to the jetty, the waterslide is 70 metres long and 13.3 metres high.  Children must be taller than 110cm to ride the slide.   All the pathways have non-slip surfaces and there is seating for parents or carers who wish to watch the children as they exit the slide into the splash pool.

There is also a large grass area at the back of the complex to enjoy a picnic and to just sit down and take a break.  To the side of the slide there are some more tables and chairs.

Having been here a few times now with both little kids and ‘big’ kids, it’s sometimes hard to tell who enjoys the slide more!

Other attractions at the Semaphore Waterslide Complex

The waterslide is by far the main attraction, but once the kids have had time to dry off, or for those who are too small or don’t wish too get wet there are the other attractions to entertain.

The Ferris Wheel is a nice size at 17 metres high and with12 carriages that each hold 3 people.  The Ferris Wheel was imported in its original form from the USA in 2000 and shipped by sea from Sydney to Adelaide.

The Mini Golf has 9 holes and is suitable for all ages.

The Flying Bee is housed in an all weather enclosure and is a nice ride for little ones.  The Sideshow Area has Laughing Clowns and Pluck a Duck games.

Food, Drinks & Parking

Drinks are available from the Complex or you are welcome to bring your own.  Take-away options nearby include the Semaphore Train Kiosk or a variety of shops along Semaphore Road just a short walk away.  There is street car parking along the Esplanade and an off street car park just north of The Palais.
