Six Extinctions | SA Museum Dinosaur Exhibition | 26 Nov 2022 – 5 Feb 2023

Six Extinctions Exhibition at the South Australian Museum

Step back in time and explore the mass extinctions of Earth’s history at Six Extinctions at the South Australian Museum! Meet some of the top predators of each geological period, including a replica of the largest Tyrannosaurus rex ever found!

Six Extinctions is an exciting new blockbuster exhibition premiering at the South Australian Museum that follows the history of life on Earth. The death of the dinosaurs is the most famous extinction, but it is only one of the five past mass extinction events on our planet.

While extinctions have extinguished many creatures, they have also paved the way for new life to emerge: if not for the extinction of non-avian dinosaurs, we would not be here today.

Six Extinctions explores ‘The Big Five’ mass extinctions throughout Earth’s history and looks at the current extinction crisis, the Sixth Extinction and what we can do to help.
