ST. ALi Italian Film Festival Adelaide 2023

The 2023 ST. ALi Italian Film Festival presented by Palace, Australia’s pre-eminent event celebrating the culture and cinema of Italy, returns this Spring.

The Festival promises to whisk audiences straight to Italy featuring an eclectic mix of contemporary Italian auteurs, documentaries, a retrospective focus on much-loved Italian cinema legend Massimo Troisi and more, all timed perfectly to celebrate the start of spring.

The festival is happy to present the following family-friendly film for its lineup this year:

Supernova (NOI ANNI LUCE)

Suitable for: All Ages

Two young rising stars of Italian cinema, Carolina Sala and Rocco Fasano, feature as two newfound friends who embark on a journey that will change their lives forever in this heartfelt drama.

 

The Properties of Metal (LE PROPRIETÀ DEI METALLI)

Suitable for: All Ages

In the 1970s in an Italian village, where the idyllic beauty of the landscape belies the toughness of life, a young boy astounds locals by appearing to bend metal simply through the power of his mind.

Strangeness (LA STRANEZZA)

Suitable for: Check the Classification

Inspired by true events, this Italian box office hit starring Toni Servillo follows playwright Luigi Pirandello on a trip to Sicily in the 1920s where he meets a pair of amateur actors and their meeting brings great surprises.

 

Magic Naples (NAPOLI MAGICA)

Suitable for: All Ages

Actor/director Marco D’Amore sets out on a journey into the heart of Naples, uncovering myths, legends, the labyrinths of the city and the countless stories of one of the oldest and most fascinating cities in the world.
