Still Awake Still!

Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre in association with Jump Leads and Jessica Wilson
Adelaide Premiere

Still Awake Still! is a hilarious musical theatre work, inspired by songs from the book I’m Still Awake, Still! by Elizabeth Honey and Sue Johnson. This is a mischievous cabaret for all ages which is part of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival as well as the Something on Saturday program.

Miss Ivory Tinklefinger, Queen of Sleep, is hired to sing the audience to sleep, but tonight her piano has a mind of its own. Her lullabies come alive – and the consequences are wild! Part-concert, part-theatre, the entire show emerges like magic from beneath the lid of an ingenious grand piano set. It features superb live acoustic music and comic acting, with the musicians joining in the action.

Still Awake Still! is funny and anarchic with irresistible child-appeal, and a level of sophistication that delights adults and children alike. It’s gloriously unpredictable, with the glamour of a big night out, and mayhem worthy of the Marx Brothers. It is inspired by parents’ daily challenge of putting their little ones to bed and one thing is for sure: there will be no sleeping at this show!

“Effervescent and utterly entertaining for the whole family”
