The Fairy Party at The Moseley l Review

The Fairy Party at The Moseley – April School Holidays Review

By Jo Parkinson

There were plenty of sparkles, magic, dancing, and fun to be had at The Fairy Party!

Held in a private upstairs function area at The Moseley in Glenelg, The Fairy Party was a lovely way to spend a morning during the school holidays. The party involved a great variety of entertainment such as games, face paint glitter, bubbles, magic, and balloon twisting. A set lunch and drinks were also included in the cost.

On arrival, the first thing we noticed was the long table, beautifully set out ready for lunch. We loved that each chair had a pair of fairy wings for children to wear during the party, so it didn’t matter if you didn’t bring your own.

The party began with all the children gathered around the Fairy Host. She sat them down and chatted whilst waiting for everyone to arrive. With numbers capped at 20, it meant that the experience was not too crowded or overwhelming. There was plenty of seating for adults to comfortably sit and watch.

Once all the little fairies had arrived, the Fairy Host involved the children in casting a ‘magic spell’ in her colouring book. It was sweet to see their little faces light up in awe as the pages went from blank to coloured!

She then sprinkled magic glitter fairy dust on each fairy’s head, much to their delight. Once everyone was sparkly, it was time for a game of musical statues. This was a great way to get everybody up and moving after sitting for a while.

Then came the bubble machine! Always a hit with young children, the little fairies danced to music and popped as many bubbles as they could.

Our favourite part was when the Fairy Host lined everyone up to paint their face with special fairy glitter. The Fairy was nice and quick at bedazzling each child’s face, so they didn’t have to wait for too long. There was also plenty of time to take photos of the children and the Fairy Host was more than happy to chat and pose for photos too.

By this time lunch was ready. Everyone took a seat at the table and enjoyed delicious chicken nuggets, hot chips and yummy pizza. Big jugs of lemonade, cordial and juice were also provided. While the little fairies were filling their bellies, the Fairy Host was busily twisting up balloon dogs for each guest. My little fairy was so excited with her balloon dog, as she had never had one before.

The Fairy Party went for about an hour and a half and was suitable for approximately 3- to 8-year-olds. The things we loved most about The Fairy Party were:

  • Not too crowded
  • All the children were well behaved and attentive, helped by the smooth running of the activities.
  • The Fairy Host was absolutely beautiful! She was fantastic with all the children. Even though there were 20 of them and only one of her, she did not get overwhelmed and was in control the whole time. She was also super friendly.
  • The range of activities. The little fairies all looked like they were having so much fun!
  • The venue was perfect
  • Great value for money

We had such a wonderful time at The Fairy Party, and I am sure everyone walked out with a smile on their face. We would definitely recommend attending in the future.

In the words of my little fairy, ‘I loved it so much!’

The Fairy Party is also being held at other locations:
