The Frog Prince – State Opera South Australia
State Opera South Australia presents a new show aiming to get young children familiar with the artform of opera and learn a few lessons along the way.
The Frog Prince is a modern retelling of the classic Grimm tale, where a spoilt princess encounters a sassy frog and an unlikely friendship blossoms. They embark on a fantastical and uplifting journey, learning lessons about friendship and the importance of looking after the environment along the way.
The show features a variety of popular operatic arias from composers including Mozart, Rossini and Bizet, where lyrics have been transformed and translated to English to captivate and wow young audiences.
Children can be seated on the floor in front of the performance area (optional), 10 min Q&A with the performers after the show.
Performances:
Saturday 16 & Sunday 17 March 2024 | 10:00am & 2:00pm
Venue: Adelaide Botanic High School Gym | Suitable for children up to 12 years.
