The Glebe Playground | Littlehampton | Review

Littlehampton’s Glebe Playground features a fully fenced playground in the middle of a vast open space, and now includes toilets and bike ramps for an active outdoor family.

Review by Adaire Prosser

The Glebe in Littlehampton is set on a large open paddock and has enjoyed a number of recent upgrades. It remains a dog-friendly park with walking trails along the perimeter, and now includes a fully-fenced nature inspired playground.

The playground is centered around a huge, shady tree and has a sheltered picnic table. There is a range of climbing obstacles and ropes, a basket swing, sandpit and plenty of natural obstacles for balancing. There is also a huge grassed area within the fence for picnic rugs, ball sports or frisbees.

The sandpit with beach-style sand is always a favourite and our 4 year old reviewer loves climbing and balancing on all the natural elements across the playspace.

Outside the fenced playground is the new toilet block and dirt bike ramps and tracks. There is a section for confident riders, and some smaller mounds and obstacles for those new to riding.

The Glebe is a great outdoor playspace for a wide range of ages and abilities and will call to those who love nature play.

Things to Consider:

  • There is some shade, but play and climbing equipment are unshaded so take hats and sunscreen.
  • No BBQ facilities.
  • It is a dog friendly park. The main park is an off-leash area, so dogs may approach. Dogs are also allowed within the fenced playground area, but only while on a leash.
  • There is a pond located outside of the fenced area, across from the toilets. Keep an eye on little ones here.

Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:

  • Marketplace Café at Littlehampton
  • Rise Artisan Bakery in nearby Nairne

Location:

The Glebe is located on Old Princes Hwy, Littlehampton.

There is room to park on Old Princes Hwy, but it is a busy highway.

If you drive around to Fulford Terrace (near Alston Road), there is some off-road space for parking (and entry into the park).
