Tribute to Rock by Star Academy is high energy fun, with songs that will have you bopping in your seat.
Tribute to Rock is a high energy rock dance concert with wonderful dancing and singing and packed with so much fun. The stage is electric with enthusiasm from these 28 young talented performers aged from 8 to 18 years.
Be thunderstruck by their awesome dance moves, the choreography, costumes, the whole package. It’s actually a credit to these girls that they don’t break a sweat from all the quick costume changes.
See some little snippets of the show in our video below.
The show is almost non stop dancing and singing with a little bit of comedy dialogue. The show moves along quickly, and has more singing and dancing than dialogue compared to their debut show last year. This is great for kids in the audience as there’s literally no time to get bored.
It’s a simple story that even little kids will follow easily, about a new girl, Rory, who has just transferred from “Adelaide High” to attend this prestigious dance school, which has always been ballet focused. Rock and roll is what Rory loves and before long her love for other genres of dance – contemporary, tap, jazz, as well as hip hop (much to their teachers’ disgust) – is infectious, and the other girls love learning these new dances and music. Mums and Dads get to relive their 80s and 90s music tape mixes with hits from ACDC, Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Who, INXS, a Bon Jovi medley, Bryan Adams and Fleetwood Mac to name but a few. It is astounding how many songs they manage to fit into this one hour show.
If you have any aspiring young dancer in the family or just want a great musical show to see this fits the bill perfectly.
Tribute to Rock is on again the next 2 weekends on Friday & Saturday nights at 6.30pm and Sundays at 12pm & 4pm.
