On 24 October last year Mac Holdsworth took his own life after being sexually extorted by a middle-aged man pretending to be a teenage girl. Mac was only 17. Join S(MAC)K Talk for their very first community event on Thursday 24 October 2024 in memory of Mac’s first anniversary.

Wayne Holdsworth founded the suicide prevention program S(MAC)K Talk last year after losing his son Mac. The not-for-profit company teaches parents and teens some of the warning signs to look out for.
When you read about Mac’s story and how he became a victim of sextortion the first thing many teens may say is “But I’d never send a nude pic…” Well, guess what? You don’t even need to these days. Scammers can now create AI-generated fake nude pics and use these to blackmail kids.
You can sign up for Unplug24 to raise awareness and funds to help prevent sexual extortion and suicide. Show your support by signing up for the challenge to stay off social media for 24 hours this Thursday 24 October.
