Step into a world of magic, adventure and imagination this Halloween at Adelaide Gaol as Wail at the Gaol returns to Adelaide Gaol on Saturday 24 October 2026!
One of Adelaide’s longest-running Halloween events returns with a family-friendly Fairy Tale Trail through the historic Gaol. Journey through enchanting, themed spaces inspired by beloved fairy tales, from Snow White and Beauty & the Beast to Under the Sea adventures, castles, dragons and the Yellow Brick Road.
As you explore the Gaol, follow the Fairy Tale Trail, meet colourful characters and discover surprises around every corner. With interactive displays, themed photo opportunities and magical scenes throughout the site, there’s something for fairy tale lovers of all ages.
Children who complete the Fairy Tale Trail will receive special Halloween treats at each station to take home.
After your adventure through the Gaol, relax and enjoy a range of delicious food and refreshments from the Mugshot Canteen. Don’t forget to go dressed as your favourite fairy tale character for an extra touch of magic!
