Walk a Mile in My Boots | Hutt St Centre | 8 Aug 2025

Walk a Mile in My Boots – Step Up to End Homelessness.

Walk a Mile in My Boots brings together thousands of South Australians to walk in solidarity alongside people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. This event is more than just a walk; it’s a powerful statement of community, empathy, and action. By going along, you are helping to raise awareness for homelessness and supporting Hutt St Centre to continue to provide essential services and support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Walk in solidarity with the community on Friday 8 August 2025 — a powerful moment to stand with the 7,000+ people in South Australia without a safe place to call home.  No one should have to face homelessness alone.

Go the extra mile: fundraise and take on the challenge to walk 2, 7 or even 10 miles a day during National Homelessness Week (4–10 August).

In Australia, it’s estimated that a person sleeping rough walks around 28km (17.8 miles) each week — just to reach essential services and find safety for the night.

The Walk:

The walk will start and finish at the Victoria Park/Pakapakanthi Grandstand.  There is a free hot breakfast at the finish line and coffee available for purchase.

This year the walking route is taking a new path within Victoria Park/Pakapakanthi.  This path will have far less impact on traffic and increased safety for participants.

After the walk, you’re invited to gather at the Community Event Hub in front of the Grandstand for a range of activities and other exciting activations.
