Autism-friendly sessions: Wonders from the South Australian Museum

An autism-friendly morning for all ages.

Visit the Museum before they open to the public. Anyone with autism or other sensory needs and their families can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the Museum, as well as participating in science and craft activities. This is a chance to see all of the permanent galleries, and maybe discover something you’ve never noticed before! The new exhibition, Wonders of the South Australian Museum, will be open and free to visit.

While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, the Museum acknowledges that sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for autistic visitors. The Museum will be altering some of the screens, lights and sounds around the building to make it more accessible for this special event, and there will be a sensory area. Autism SA has worked with the Museum to provide autism awareness training for staff.

What is this event?

From 8am-10am, the Museum will open all the galleries to visitors with tickets for the event.

Tickets are free and are only available for people with autism and their accompanying family, friends or support workers.

How To Book:

Please book a free ticket on Eventbrite for each attendee, including family members, friends and support workers (there is no need to book a ticket for a child under 3).
