Yo-Diddle Diddle | Patch Theatre Company | Aug 2017 Review

Yo Diddle Diddle by Patch Theatre Company | Review

Based on the book, ‘The Cow Tripped Over the Moon’ by Tony Wilson, this is the tale of a determined cow who faces many setbacks in her attempt to jump over the moon but keeps on persisting to reach her goal.

Patch Theatre tells the story of this sweet book very simply. The farmyard setting and glowing moon form a great backdrop for the very ambitious cow and her friend the cat who narrates the story, and the nursery rhyme we all know so well.

The cow embarks on a series of zany attempts to achieve her lofty goal of jumping over the moon. From exercise classes to stacking and climbing blocks in order to reach out and touch the moon, cow nearly gives up but for her helpful friends who are a constant source of ideas. Cat is always leading the way, while trusty DJ dog is always on hand to lend a hip-hop beat to get cow moving!

After a series of failures, cow finally dons a cape and rocket blasters and takes off on an adventure into space and enters a delightful time of orbit!

This show is great for the smaller kids with vivid imaginations who dream of chasing the stars and the moon.

It is a great reminder to never give up chasing those dreams…
