Zainberi Wholesome, Delicious Treats
Many of us are looking for treats which are first of all delicious, but also nutritious. Zainberi treats are created with this in mind.
The creators of Zainberi desserts developed these treats in response to their own sugar-loving child, to create food that replaces “traditional dessert ingredients such as flour, butter and sugar with ingredients that provide better nutrients”.
“Zain” is a common word used in the Middle East meaning good and tasty. This word captures the essence of our food, and hints that our inspiration comes from that region. “Beri” indicates that the brand is associated with food through customising the words “berry” and “berries” which are associated with nutritious, natural and tasty fruits. Hence, the brand name “Zainberi”.
Tasting the Desserts
The creators of Zainberi desserts hail from the Middle East and you can taste the Middle Eastern flavours in particular desserts such as the Orange Chia Seed Slice.
There are a variety of different products available: Blueberry Flaxseed Cupcake; Black Bean Brownie; Chickpea Peanut Butter Tart; Apple Flaxseed Cupcake; Orange Chia Seed Slice; and Mint Chia Seed Slice.
I tested these treats on my daughter who was seriously won over, she thought they were very yummy. Miss 10 and I also both fell in love with the Black Bean brownie which was amazing. I confess, when I read that they contained black beans I was curious about what they would taste like, but they are very chocolatey and sweet and have a great texture.
I have tried in the past to bake my own healthy treats for the kids without telling them they have things like chia seeds etc but unfortunately, they know straight away and won’t eat them. In our household, baked treats are for very special days only, so I am totally impressed that Zainberi have managed to create desserts which actually contain healthy ingredients and that they are really delicious!
Zainberi desserts are made here in Adelaide and I love the fact that they are locally made with love and without the need for nasty chemicals. This is absolutely fantastic in my books and I will definitely be seeking a local stockist who supplies them.
Great for Snacks
Most of the desserts contain nuts, however, the Black Bean Brownies are nut-free and would make for a healthier treat lunch-box idea. If your school does not have a nut policy, then many of these products would be great as a lunch-box treat. Either way, they would be a great alternative to processed snacks after school particularly for those days when there is no time for baking.
These products would also be great to have on hand for impromptu guests as they look great on a platter.
Currently, Zainberi products are available at numerous On the Run convenience and petrol outlets around Adelaide, some local IGA supermarkets and Tony & Marks Fruit & Veg stores.
