Event Cinemas Marion is bringing you the first-ever 4DX cinema in Adelaide, and it’s also Australia’s biggest.

Now you can not only watch a film, but feel it too.  Feel every moment of the action with motion-synchronised seats, wind, water, scent, and special effects that put you right in the heart of the movie. 4DX transforms film into an unforgettable multi-sensory experience you can’t get anywhere else.

Tickets are now on sale for the first films to be screened on 4DX at Event Cinemas Marion during the first week of the Spring school holidays.  Films include The Bad Guys 2 (PG), Him (MA15+) and 3D Avatar: The Way of Water Re-release (M).

WHAT IS 4DX?

4DX is the next step for movies, taking audiences on a journey into the full feature film. Providing a revolutionary cinematic experience that stimulates all five senses, 4DX features high-tech moving seats and special effects including wind, fog, strobe lighting, water and scents that synchronise perfectly with the action on the screen to full immerse you in the movie.

There is a button on your arm rest that allows you to turn the water effects off. No other effects can be turned on/off during the film. All chairs move together, so they cannot stop individual chairs from moving. The use of effects varies between films.

4DX SIGNATURE EFFECTS:

Each chair is equipped with motion simulators to mimic the action on the screen.

Explosions, smoke and fog coming into reality.

Thunder with flashes of light just inches away.

Back and leg ticklers awakening your senses for excitement.

Feel a gentle breeze or turbulent storm in the comfort of the auditorium.

Purified water is used to create a light mist and rain. Don’t worry, there’s a control on your arm rest to turn it on or off.

From the smoky explosions to the warm smell of coffee, 4DX enhances scenes with appropriate scents.
