Life-sized Doll’s House in Rundle Mall
To celebrate the Adelaide Festival’s 60th birthday, a life-sized doll’s house has been commissioned in the middle of the city.
Visionary Japanese artist Tatzu Nishi, who has been transforming public spaces in jaw-dropping ways across the world since 2000, presents his life-sized, three-storeyed Dollโs House for your delight and discovery. It has been created only once before, outside the Palais de Tokyo art museum in Paris.
Play & Go’s Tips:
- Please be aware that there are flights of stairs to walk up, (and then down again), to explore all 3 levels.
- The house is not very big and only fits 20 people at a time, so be prepared to wait in line as itโs free and popular.
- Strollers cannot be taken into the house.
Is it about the elevation of the domestic or the deflation of the grandiose? The role of art in public and private life? Ponder as you wander or just have fun playing with this most amazing of toys.
The Doll’s House is free to enter.
