Google 3D Animals
Google augmented reality lets you meet life-sized animals up close. Google has also created Aussie animals which you can view in 3D.
If like our family you’ve been in lockdown and practising social distancing due to the situation with COVID-19 you might enjoy a virtual trip to the zoo thanks to Google 3D Animals.
It’s a fun way for children to learn more about their favourite animals, and best of all you don’t need to leave the house to enjoy it.
All you need to get started is a smartphone or compatible device (full specs below) and Google Chrome or the Google Search app.
- Android smartphone or tablet: Android 7.0 or higher w/ pre-installed Google Play Store
- iPhone/iPad: iOS 11.0 or higher
You just need do a Google Search for one of the animals and you’ll find this screen:
How it works
Click where it says “View in 3D” and then wait about 30 seconds and – voila – instant animals.
He’s hungry like a wolf.
I feel like this pug wants to play with the dress ups.
The cheetah is heading for our organic bin.
What 3D animals can you search for?
Google announced 3D animals in 2019 and it’s likely they are adding more to the list as they are created, but in the meantime here is a starting point.

The dog did not seem worried at all that a giant emperor penguin had come to visit.
