Loxton Lights Festival | Christmas in Loxton | 30 Nov – 31 Dec 2024

Loxton is the home of Christmas in the Riverland.  Every year the Loxton Lights Festival gets bigger and better than the last and in 2024 they’re back once again.

Christmas is a magical time, full of enchantment, celebration and family. Now in its 33rd year, the Loxton Lights Festival will once again showcase the joyous festive season for locals and visitors alike.

An enormous Christmas tree dazzles in the heart of town and from there, large clusters of residential streets feature homes adorned with over 400 illuminated Christmas scenes, paintings and coloured light displays. Explore the Riverland’s best shopping strip – East Terrace. Browse the diverse range of specialty shops, with many independent, family-run small businesses giving you a unique Christmas shopping experience.

LIGHT UP DAY

Saturday 30 November 2024

Light Up Day marks the beginning of the Loxton Lights Festival, traditionally the town’s biggest party of the year.

Immerse yourself in the Christmas spirit as they celebrate the start of the festive season in Loxton’s vibrant Main Street.  Shops will be open all day for Christmas shopping from 9am to 8.30pm.  There will be lots of fun for the whole family whilst Santa is visiting in the morning from 10am-1pm, and again when he returns after his siesta from 4pm-8pm.

As the sun sets and the anticipation builds, don’t miss the highlight of this iconic event – the fireworks spectacular at 9pm on the banks of the Murray River, where the sky will come alive with dazzling colors, marking the official start of Loxton’s magical Christmas Lights Festival.

LIGHT UP DAY PROGRAM

FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR

A fantastic fireworks display will light up Loxton to start the Lights Festival with a bang.  Free family entertainment on the main stage at 8pm leads up to the grand finale, a spectacular fireworks display on the banks of the Murray River, making Loxton Light Up Day a truly unforgettable event for the whole family.
