Discover, Play, Pathway! FREE family fun on the Amy Gillett Bikeway.
Editors update Friday 27 February 2026: Adelaide Hills Council, has had to cancel the 2026 Discover Play Pathway event on Sunday 1 March due to forecast heavy rain for the weekend and a flood and storm warning for the Mount Lofty Ranges issued by the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
Discover Play Pathway is a much-loved, annual community event along the Amy Gillett Bikeway. Council hopes to reschedule the event for later in the year.
Ride or walk the Amy Gillett Bikeway and discover an array of live entertainment, markets, food and family fun all set against the backdrop of the spectacular rolling Adelaide Hills. It’s all happening on 1 March 2026 from 9am to 3pm.
The 15-kilometre trail winds through picturesque towns, past iconic hills businesses and thriving wineries, encompassing Oakbank, Woodside, Charleston and Mount Torrens.
Discover, Play, Pathway is back, and DJ Sepia is bringing the Speaker Bike Ride! This free and family-friendly Fringe Festival event brings colour, music, creativity and community spirit to the Amy Gillett Bikeway from Oakbank to Birdwood. Whether you walk, ride, or run, it’s all about fun!
With the spectacular backdrop of the Adelaide Hills, the 23-kilometre bikeway winds through iconic townships of Oakbank, Woodside, Mount Torrens and the new extension to Birdwood.
Vibrant activity hubs in Woodside and Mount Torrens will be packed with family-friendly activities, entertainment and local goodies. The Mount Torrens Market is a must-visit and the perfect place to stop in and refresh after the idyllic ride!
Highlights:
Speaker Bike Ride with DJ Sepia – an 11km cycling magical musical tour!
Experience cycling in a whole new way with this fun, music-filled ride along the Amy Gillett Bikeway with DJ Sepia. Ride along with the DJ while listening to an uplifting mix and take in the picturesque surroundings. Decorate your bike and dress in bright, cheerful colours to brighten the day!
The Speaker Bike Ride covers 11.5 kilometres, but participants are welcome to join for all or part of the journey. You can start at Woodside, Charleston, with the finish in Mount Torrens, making it easy to choose a distance that suits your family.

Mount Torrens Hub and Market
Roll into Mount Torrens Oval, wander through the local Mount Torrens Market and enjoy food, live entertainment, the mobile library, Council vehicle displays, RAA bike checks and family-friendly activities. There will be plenty to do for the kids, including the amazing Leckie Playground – a nature play paradise.
Woodside Hub
The famous Woody Trails Bike Track is the ultimate biking adventure zone. Featuring a pump track for the little ones and a BMX track for the more experienced riders. Activities on offer include: Welcome to Country; nature play (cubby building and potion making); face painting; a Lions BBQ with bike bell giveaways; the Love Woodside community group; an AHC stand with bike decorating; and the AHC Mobile Library.

NO BIKE? You don’t need a bike to get involved – just arrive at an activity hub and dive straight into the fun – or hire a bike from Bike About if you want to join the ride.
SHARE THE BIKEWAY Whether on wheels or on foot, don’t forget to keep left when travelling along the Bikeway. If you hear a bell, someone is trying to pass you, so move to the left and keep children and dogs close by.
ACCESSIBILITY This is a fully accessible event. Accessible toilets are available at Gillman Reserve in Oakbank and Woodside.
REHYDRATING Remember to regularly rehydrate as you travel along the Bikeway. They have dedicated water stations in Woodside and Charleston.
KEEP IT CLEAN Please take any rubbish with you or use the bins provided.
BUSHFIRE WARNING Note, in the event of a declared Extreme or Catastrophic Fire Danger Day, Discover, Play, Pathway! will be cancelled.
