Enjoy pizzas with a unique flair at the newly renovated Alchemists’ Kitchen on Jetty Road, Brighton.
The space has recently received a refresh with modern, sleek décor and stylish furniture. There’s now a variety of seating including barstools and benches alongside bigger tables. The golden wood-fire oven remains the centrepiece, where you can watch the chefs cooking up the pizzas to order. We got the opportunity to try some samples from the menu and can confirm that this is a great little spot to grab a bite, conveniently located just by Brighton Beach.
The menu boasts a delightful fusion of traditional flavours with unique combinations infused with a Lebanese flair. A particular favourite was the Cheese Brik, a delicious flaky pastry shaped like a spring roll, stuffed with molten cheese and confit orange served with toasted almonds and rhubarb. We also loved the Crab Bites which were made of puffed wheat shells filled with a deliciously creamy filling of blue swimmer crab, salmon pearls and sour cream.
But the star of the show had to be the freshly baked wood-fired pizza with that delicious puffy, crispy, charred crust and flavourful toppings. For the more adventurous, there are some unique combinations such as The Samurai Pizza, a Japanese-inspired pizza topped with scotch fillet steak, wasabi mayo and pickled onion. This was like nothing we’d ever tasted before and had a real kick to it. However, our personal favourite was the Truffle Mushroom Pizza, which was topped with fragrant truffle parmesan, portobello mushrooms and fresh greens on rich tomato sauce. This was the perfect winter warmer and had just the right balance of flavours.
For those who prefer some more traditional flavours, there are some classic options too such as the Margherita or Classic Salami Pizzas. Vegan cheese or gluten free dough are available upon request.
The dinner menu also includes a curated range of snacks and sides such as house-made bread and of course, chips and salads. There are also a few other mains to choose from if you’re not feeling like pizza. A brunch menu is available from Wednesday to Sunday with all-day breakfast from 9am – 2pm and lunch from 11:30am.
For the adults, there’s a unique selection of seasonal wines, cocktails, spirits and beer to enjoy with your food, many from local SA wineries and breweries.
Overall, this is a cosy eatery staple for those in the area or visiting the beach. It provides plenty of lively ambiance to catch up with friends or family over a diverse selection of delicious food and drinks.
