Evelina’s World | Port Adelaide | 1-10 Aug 2025

Welcome to the world of wearable art, inflatables and the internationally renowned artist Evelyn Roth.

Video tape knitted into a ‘car cosy’, massive inflatable whale, polar bear and dolphin, 50cm high carved wooden shoes and a kodachrome slide dress.  The Port Adelaide artists Forum (PAAF) is honouring Evelyn Roth, one of South Australia’s greatest artists this SALA Festival at ‘Evelina’s World’. 

This interactive exhibition comprising some of Evelyn’s most iconic pieces will transform Harts Mill into an interactive, imaginative journey of art, storytelling and connection with a host of activities including helping build a velcro forest and hearing wonderful stories of the creatures and animals Evelyn has created which are sure to excite young minds.

Evelyn has long been a champion of environmental and sustainable causes through her art combined with interaction and engaging storytelling sessions held inside her inflatables as any WOMAD regular who’s experienced the wonder of her Nylon Zoo can attest.

Evelyn has been creating art since the 1960’s and fabulous inflatables since the 1970’s.  Go along and celebrate this awesome local (Maslin Beach) artist and her work.   Using large-scale walk in inflatables, costumes, projected imagery, information displays, storytelling and workshops with young people this giant interactive exhibition will focus on sustainable coastal care, plant biodiversity, kelp gardens of the gulf, urban waterways and the protection and care of native animals, birdlife and their habitat.

A gala opening for Evelina’s World on 31 July 2025 from 5pm – 9pm will include special guests Dr Mike Bossley and Evelyn Roth.
