The NRMA Insurance men’s Ashes series heads to Adelaide for the Christmas Test.
Cricket’s oldest rivalry is back! The most iconic series in world cricket will be played at Adelaide Oval this December as Australia take on England. The Ashes remains one of the most historic and hotly contested events in world sport and it’s been more than two years since Australia and England played out a thrilling drawn Ashes series in the UK. Now it’s time for the Aussies to once again host the famous contest as Pat Cummins’ side fly the flag against Ben Stokes’ tourists.
CHRISTMAS TEST FESTIVAL – FREE FAMILY FUN
Australia have owned the Ashes urn ever since winning the 2017-18 series by a comprehensive 4-0 result. Since then there have been drawn series in England in 2019 and 2023, plus another comprehensive 4-0 victory at home in 2021-22.
It’s been 15 years since England have won a series Down Under (2010-11), which was also the most recent time they won a Test match on Australian soil.
The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) and Cricket Australia announced a long-term deal securing Adelaide Oval as the host venue for the final Test Match before Christmas from 2025 through to the 2030/31 summer, with an agreement that the next seven years will be a mixture of day and day/night fixtures. This landmark agreement includes the highly anticipated Ashes series in the 2025/26 summer.
Ticket holders can travel free on all regular Adelaide Metro buses, trains and trams to and from all international cricket matches at Adelaide Oval. Visit the Adelaide Metro website for more information.
