Doppio Cafe | St Morris | Review

A cozy little Italian café with quality coffee, a kid’s nook and free babyccinos, do yourself a favour and give Doppio a try!

Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji

Located in the leafy suburb of St Morris on the corner of Seventh Avenue and bustling Glynburn road, sits Doppio, a family run business serving up great coffee and good vibes.  Painted in eye catching sage and cream hues with a cool coffee window taking pride of space on the front corner, Doppio draws you in from the get go.

As we make our way to the front of the café we notice floor to ceiling windows displaying the cutest little kids corner. Walking closer to the entrance we also pass by cream and sage outdoor tables and chairs placed along the side of the building for diners to enjoy their goods alfresco. There is a large corner coffee window for takeaway orders and once inside you are met with a sage green counter, Doppio branded coffee machine and glass cabinets displaying many tempting goods.

With kids in tow we made our way to the back of the café to utilise the kids play area. There is a small table with four chairs, a small cupboard with a range of toys to suit various ages and interests, blocks, books, puzzles and two huge cups filled with colourful pencils. The space is small but well thought out and a great option for young children and families that want a relaxed coffee in an environment that caters to kids.

The menu is a mix of all day breakfast, burgers and epic Italian style sandwiches. Kids are also well catered for when it comes to food with a separate kid’s section boasting selections including nuggets, toasties, cheeseburgers and waffles. Doppio loves supporting South Australian businesses where possible and proudly serves Charlie Black Coffee, T bar tea, Tweedvale milk and sources cakes and goods from a range of South Australian bakeries, cafes and caterers. Last but not least a huge draw card for this café is that it serves up FREE babyccinos, which is rare in this economy but much appreciated.

Other notable elements about this café is its light and bright appearance, attention to detail with cleanliness and kind welcoming service. Doppio is a small café with a lot to offer the community and a fantastic choice for your next coffee catch up.

Things to note:

  • There is wheelchair ramp
  • There is one toilet on sight and baby change facilities are present inside
  • They are able to cater to vegetarian, vegan and vegetarian diners
  • Glynburn Road is busy so its best to park on Seventh Avenue or behind the café in the car park
  • Their cinnamon scrolls are very popular so get in early
