What’s My Colour On The Spectrum? | Dr Krishna Jadav Carle

Introducing the Rainbow Model: Celebrating autism in every child, every colour, every strength. This book is for parents who feel unsure, overwhelmed, or isolated when navigating the early stages of parenting a neurodivergent child.
South Australian paediatrician Dr Krishna Jadav Carle has released a book, What’s My Colour On The Spectrum?, which breaks down seven different ways autism can present in children. It’s a simple, practical framework she has developed over decades in clinic, designed to make the early stages of understanding autism far clearer for parents.
“No two children on the spectrum are the same,” Dr Carle says. “Many families delay or avoid seeking a diagnosis because their child doesn’t match commonly discussed examples of autism. This framework outlines a broader set of characteristics, which may help reduce that barrier.”
A lot of parents don’t see their child reflected in the typical “autism stereotype”, which can make the whole process confusing and lonely. Krishna’s Rainbow Model explains the different presentations in clear, relatable language, helping parents recognise early signs, understand their child’s needs, and feel more supported.
If you’re a parent looking for something that gives clarity, reassurance, and practical guidance, What’s My Colour On The Spectrum? is designed to make the journey easier for you, your children, and the professionals who support them.
