Lightsview Toddler Playground | Review

The Lightsview Toddler Playground is a fully fenced play space with a lot to offer families with young children.

Review by Angelica-Hazel Toutounji

Sometimes it can be challenging to find the perfect playground, let alone a playground that is toddler friendly. Thankfully this little Lightsview local gem provides a great option for parents and toddlers alike, with enough equipment to keep them entertained, but not too much that it is overwhelming for parents running after little legs.

First things first – this playground is located in Lightsview, with ample parking and leafy trees surrounding it.  Walking towards the playground it’s great to see that there is a big grassy area, an undercover table and chair set up, a drink fountain and the playground component is separated by a fully enclosed fence.

Moving inside the fenced playground, the entire space is covered with a rubber soft fall surface making it perfect for small kids. The other element that really works with this playground is that the equipment is spaced out well so multiple families can enjoy the area without competing for space. There are two swings, one for bigger kids and one for babies, a bouncy helicopter, a car, a round netted swing, a seesaw and a merry go round. There are also two inbuilt trampolines which are a great feature. Last but not least there is a jungle gym with two slides, some climbing walls and a netted climbing area.

One big minus about this playground is that there is no toilet onsite which can be annoying with small children in tow. The other thing to be mindful of is depending the time of day and season the playground can get quite sunny despite being surrounded by trees.

All in all this playground is a great choice for families with young children as it’s small, safe, fully fenced, not too far from the city and close to a good coffee shop too.

Things to Consider:

  • This place can get busy at peak times
  • There are no toilets on site
  • Make sure to take a hat as it can be quite sunny at times
  • There are quite a few seats both inside the fenced playground and outside

Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:

  • Jibbi & Co is the closest and does great coffee
  • Chillax is also not too far away and next to the Woolworths Supermarket if you need to grab some groceries

Location:

Corner of East Parkway & North Parkway, Lightsview
