Visit a South Aussie icon, pick up a sweet treat and get a sneak peak inside the Menz confectionery factory!

If you have often driven past but never ventured inside the iconic Menz factory outlet in Glynde, take this as a sign to make a stop. Located on Glynburn Road, just across from another South Australian icon, Gelato Bello, the Menz Factory is an awesome little shop with a lot of history. 

Menz is one of South Australia’s most iconic confectionery brands, with a rich history dating back to 1850. What began as a small grocery and bakery business has grown into a household name, delighting generations with some of Australia’s favourite sweet treats.

The company first gained fame with its iconic YoYo biscuits before introducing the much-loved Crown Mint in 1892. This was followed by the creation of the legendary Violet Crumble and, in 1948, the invention of the famous FruChoc – a South Australian favourite that has become synonymous with the Menz name.

Fast forward to today and Menz has three locations around Adelaide and is the proud owner of the popular confectionery brands Bumbles, Polly Waffle, JeliChocs, Violet Crumble, Fruchocs, Fruit&Nut Chocs and Crown Mints.

Besides offering a selection of delicious sweet treats, Menz Glynde is worth a visit with kids for a number of reasons. Firstly, the Menz factory offers seconds at a reduced price as well as gift boxes, merchandise and the week before the Royal Adelaide Show, visitors can pick up their much loved show bag without braving the crowds of the show.

An extra bonus about visiting this shop is you can take a peak inside the real working factory, grab a recipe card and even receive a passport stamp for the Children’s University.

If you need to buy a gift for someone special and have no idea where to start, call past the Menz Glynde factory for a little inspiration and a lot of deliciousness.
