Interactive Playspace in Hindmarsh Square
Tucked away in the North West corner of Hindmarsh Square is a unique interactive playspace featuring concrete and steel sculptures designed for exploring, climbing and encouraging imagination.
Children can make up games and stories, have little competitions, play chase or any number of games their creative minds come up with.
The giant sized items are based around the items you might find lying around in an average Aussie backyard, such as a thong, clothes peg, ball, dog bone and a fish skeleton. The multiple stand out structures represent huge blades of grass growing in a garden that also features a garden tap and hose.
There are also numerous flower shaped plaques engraved with interesting snippets of information.
The playspace appears to be a popular hangout for teenagers as well as families and those taking a break from work in the city.
Located just behind Rundle Mall, this little park is the perfect spot to take a break from shopping or to simply sit and have a bite to eat. There are park benches along the footpath, public toilets and it’s close to a number of bus stops.
Hindmarsh Square is located alongside the intersection of Pulteney and Grenfell Streets.
