Inside the Brick brought plenty of Lego fun to the Adelaide Showgrounds this weekend (17 & 18 October 2015). The exhibition of models made from thousands of Lego bricks was very impressive, and we loved how hands-on this event was, with plenty of opportunities for kids to play and interact.
On entering we were greeted with this huge wall of Lego mini figures from the largest collection in Australia.
It was fun for the kids to guess the landmarks modelled.
We loved how there was plenty of interactive fun. There were different themed play stations. Below, kids were racing the vehicles they built on the racing ramp. The play table was full of all sorts of Lego pieces, including wheels, which allowed imaginations to run wild and all sorts of interesting machines on wheels were raced down the ramp.
Some of the amazing detailed models provided activities for kids to do. For example ‘A Knight’s Tale’ below, a medieval model which took 4 months to build, had a number of characters in amongst the set which you could look for.
Below there were two sets that were the same but with slight changes for you to ‘Spot the difference’.
Visitors were invited to build their own Lego items and display them. Below are some of the items on the Minecraft table.
The Minion table had pieces in all the right colours to build your own character. Here was Miss 10’s Minion below.
Some of the displays were very intricate and the result of many months of work.
There was a huge train set with model buildings and moving trains.
There were plenty of themes and characters that visitors young and old would be familiar with.
Little ones were not forgotten. This area below with larger Duplo pieces was great for toddlers.
This was a well organised event with plenty of fun for the whole family. They tailored it well for children – giving them plenty of opportunities to have some hands-on fun with popular themes. For example, where else would you find a whole table of Lego with hundreds of pieces of Minion colours; Minecraft pieces; vehicle pieces or all white architecture sets? It was a dream for Lego lovers.Β It was great to see kids concentrating on their creations, looking through the pile for particular pieces they needed and enthusiastic parents lending a hand when asked to help find a particular piece in a particular colour and size. Along with the Play & Go kids, we hope to see Inside Brick back in Adelaide again soon.
