Jubilee Park – Modern Playground (beside the Wooden Fort)

Hello big giraffe! This splendid creature stands guard in front of the modern playground at Jubilee Park, Pt Noarlunga, and was introduced when the playground received an upgrade late 2016.

The new equipment that was installed is part of the modern playground area, just outside of the beloved Onkaparinga Wooden Fort Adventure Playground (pictured below).

This modern playground, right next to the car park, has nature play features and is surrounded by grass. Once the trees have grown more it will have more shade, but currently there is little relief from the sun in this area.

Please note: this play area is NOT FENCED.

It is not fenced off from the car park and while the busy main road is a distance away, if you have a ‘runner’ you may prefer to stay in the wooden fort playground (which is fully fenced). Young children will need close supervision.

Some parts of the playground have been here for years already. In November 2016 some additional features were added to this play space. There is now a climbing net over a sand pit, speaking tubes, wheelchair friendly carousel, rocks and mound to climb, and water pump play feature. On our recent visit in January 2017 the swing basket had been removed.

Surrounding the play space are numerous picnic tables, shelters, BBQs and large grass areas to kick the footy, have a hit of cricket or fly a kite. The public toilets are a short walk away, the car park is along side the playground, and the entire area has wheelchair access. There are walking and cycling tracks nearby too.

On weekends an ice-cream van (pictured below) visits at certain times during the day.

You won’t miss seeing the giant giraffe if you are driving past.

Port Noarlunga’s Jubilee Park is the perfect place to host a large family gathering, birthday party or any type of get-together where there are kids of different ages. Between the wooden fort playground that’s fully fenced, and the modern playground right beside it, there is something to keep kids of all ages happy.
