Harmonising favourites The Magnets return to Adelaide Fringe and The Garden Of Unearthly Delights
Redefining the boundaries of a cappella music, UK six-piece vocal outfit The Magnets are returning to Adelaide for their fourth season, with a sensational new line-up – the cream of their crop – to present to Fringe audiences some of the hottest vocal and beatboxing talent on both the international and London’s West End a cappella scene.
The Magnets will perform Can You Feel It? in The Factory at The Garden Of Unearthly Delights from Friday 17 February until Sunday 19 March 2017.
Like Pitch Perfect with cojones, this fast paced, shape shifting, tour-de-force showcases the sheer versatility of a cappella performance. From Rat Pack to Rock Band, Nashville to Nightclub, The Magnets own each genre, effortlessly switching scenes with slickly inventive choreography and lashings of audience-engaging charm.
Legendary undefeated 3x UK Champion beatboxer and mouth music specialist Ball Zee knits the show together with his incredible tool-kit of vocal sound effects, rock-solid beats, and jaw- dropping, show-stopping solo. Bass-hunk Duncan Sandilands provides the rock solid vocal foundations and fully chested solo highs. Top voices Callum McIntosh, Billy Boothroyd, Michael Conway and Adelaide’s own Damion Scarcella form an exquisite collage of vocal talent, from rich Scottish baritone to Jersey Boy falsetto.
Sure to delight all the senses, these boys are at the top of their game as they present crowd- pleasing classics Feelin’ Good, Minnie The Moocher and Jolene, Sam Smith’s beautiful Lay Me Down and a brilliant mash-up of the Jackson 5’s Can You Feel It and Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake. Throw in some Aussie rock and a mind-bending makeover of a ‘90s Europop anthem in ten different musical styles, and this is truly an a cappella show that covers all the bases of a great live musical experience.
