Santa’s Cave Waikerie is transformed each year into a wonderland full of colourful Christmas displays, thousands of fairy lights, Christmas trees, the Nativity and lots of baubles that sparkle and shine.
Santa officially takes up residence in the Cave after the Waikerie Christmas Pageant on the last Friday in November. Designed by a dedicated team of local volunteers, the community of Waikerie created Santa’s Cave in 1996 to celebrate the spirit of Christmas.
Santa’s Cave is a collection of Christmas displays designed by the committee of currently 9 members. Many of the displays have interactive elements and plenty of photo opportunities. In 2023 they commenced school holiday activities. While you are moving around the cave, be sure to check out Santa’s Shop. The shop stocks an abundance of unique and locally handmade items as well as others you would expect from a Christmas Shop.
By entering via the ramp entrance off McCoy Street you will come across a world of amazement for all ages to enjoy, from Nativity to Wonderland. Browse through Santa’s gift shop and purchase some of the many gifts, toys and local produce on offer suitable for all your family and friends. Remember to take along your own camera to capture the memories.
Entry is a gold coin donation which is vital in keeping the cave running.
Open daily from 10am – 5pm until Christmas Day.
During the school term, Monday-Friday, Santa is only in residence from 3pm – 5pm unless arranged prior. At all other times he is in residence.
