At over five hectares, Ridge Park is home to a large oval, tennis and basketball/netball courts, outdoor fitness equipment, walking trails, a skate park and playgrounds. With so much to explore it’s the perfect place to make the most of our outdoor lifestyle and take advantage of the great facilities, such as the large open shelter which would be ideal for family gatherings.

There are two separate playgrounds at Ridge Park, one near the courts and the other one overlooking the oval.  The smaller playground has a climbing frame, spinners and a swing set.

This area is also where you will find the Ridge Park Stormwater Detention Dam.

On the opposite side of the park, accessed via stairs or you can walk around along the path, is a lovely BBQ area with seating and lots of trees offering shade on a sunny day.

The play area along side the oval has a good variety of equipment including a round rope swing, climbing rope frame, slide, wooden climbing and balancing structures, a little wooden fort and fallen logs to play amongst.  When the oval is not being used for sport there is plenty of room to bring a bat and ball or a kite on a windy day.

For active families there is a skate park and lots of courts to play tennis, basketball or netball.  There are fitness equipment stations positioned around the oval as well as a track suitable for walking, running or bike riding.

There are plenty of beautiful, large trees for shade throughout Ridge Park and the native plants attract an array of wildlife. Listen out for the parrots, magpies and kookaburras.

Pets are welcome to explore Ridge Park with an allocated off lead section for exercise. Just keep in mind dogs need to be kept on a leash within 3m of children’s play equipment.

Ridge Park has public facilities including toilets, gas BBQ’s, tables and seats, a shelter and drinking fountains.  Both of the playground areas are away from the road, however they are not fenced.

Ridge Park is a short walk to Fraser Reserve which has some fun play equipment for under-fives.

If you’re in need of a coffee, snack, breakfast or lunch there is a fabulous cafe opposite the park on Glen Osmond Road – Melon & Rye (next to the Post Office).  They have a great range of freshly baked cakes and muffins, delicious smoothies and for those wanting to sit down and enjoy a meal, they offer an all day breakfast menu and serve lunch from 11am.  They are also licensed.  You can follow Melon & Rye on Facebook here.
