New Floats for the Credit Union Christmas Pageant Revealed
The clever elves at Stardust Castle have really outdone themselves this year! They have been busy building these amazing new floats for the Credit Union Christmas Pageant and they look awesome. They were proudly revealed at the Credit Union Christmas Pageant launch today.
The Credit Union Pageant Express
Toot toot! All aboard the Credit Union Pageant Express in 2018 – you’ll see that it’s No. 86 to commemorate the 86th year of the Pageant. This lovingly handcrafted locomotive, built around a stripped down vintage car, has a two carriage caboose, which will carry 32 excited passengers who will wave from the train. The Credit Union Pageant Express is huge, at 18 metres in length and has been constructed by the elves at Stardust Castle with great care. It’s really amazing with so much detail – keep a look out for it at the pageant!

The Gingerbread House
Artist Kari Lindsay has created a vision of sweet treats with The Gingerbread House, which looks good enough to eat. You can almost smell the sweet aroma of gingerbread coming from the oven. Taking 12 weeks to lovingly carve and construct each character, this is such a wonderful Christmas inspired float. See all the details in this wonderful creation below.
In 2018, the Credit Union Christmas Pageant’s theme is ‘Shining a Light on Kindness’.
Port Noarlunga Primary School student, Lolita Casey, aged 7, has taken out honours in the 2018 Credit Union Christmas Pageant Mini-Float Design Competition, beating more than 420 other designs submitted by students from around South Australia.
Lolita’s winning design entry, The Kindness Tree, has been made into a mini float (pictured below).
“My design is a Christmas Tree that shows love for all people. It has a peace sign and hearts as we all should be kind,” said Lolita Casey.
The Pageant Royal family were there at the launch. Pictured above are the Pageant King and Pageant Princess from Police Credit Union.

We also look forward to seeing some old favourites at the Pageant, some of which were on display at the launch today. They’ve all been given a super good clean and polish and are ready to shine on Pageant day.
