Adelaide Heirloom Weekend – Adelaide Botanic Garden
The Adelaide Heirloom Weekend returns for its 4th year
Hosted by the Diggers Club and Friends of the Botanic Gardens on 6 and 7 April 2019, Heirloom Weekend is a celebration of heirloom vegetables and gardening.
Enjoy a huge range of free activities, including gardening and cooking workshops at The Diggers Garden Shop, market stalls, botanic garden tours and fun activities for the kids. Pot a Diggers heirloom seed to take home and take in their heirloom vegetable display. Learn how to preserve your harvest with Fowlers Vacola and enjoy a cooking demonstration with The Italian Association of South Australia.
Visitors can book in for a paid ticketed masterclass with some of Australia’s garden and food celebrities in the Noel Lothian Hall. On Saturday, Rosa Matto and Diggers co-founder Clive Blazey will take you on a taste tour of the Mediterranean with their Olive and Grains extended workshop. On Sunday, join Costa and Rebecca Sullivan for some fun with plants and textiles. Costa will teach you about the plants used to create natural dyes and Rebecca will help you make your own scarf and tote bag.
