Adelaide Oval Hotel | Family-Friendly Accommodation | Review
Adelaide Oval Hotel is the perfect spot for a family staycation, especially if you’re attending an event at the Oval. The hotel has lots of thoughtful touches for families staying with children.
Review by Claire Davill
The convenience of walking down from your room right to the gate of Adelaide Oval to attend a match (or event), and especially returning straight to your room afterwards, is the standout benefit when staying at the Adelaide Oval Hotel. The clean, modern rooms, fantastic views and amenities for kids are just a bonus!

The entrance to the hotel is just to the right of the East Gate. Take the elevator up to level 3 to reception, where the lounge overlooks the parklands and there’s always sport playing on the TV screens. After check in, all guests receive a welcome drink – this includes generous serves of soft drink for children.

Our room was on the same level as reception, and the corridor was accessed via an automatically opening door, a source of endless amusement for our young reviewer. There are Queen twin rooms, King studio and Family Studio options. We stayed in a King studio with a single child bed added. Rooms have views over the parklands and the River Torrens.

Our room was spotless and modern. The bathroom included a rain shower as well as normal shower, plenty of toiletries and big, fluffy towels.

Each room has a tablet for accessing the guest directory. You can order room service directly from here, find out information about facilities, and it even has a section dedicated to family services. Included is a fun football game that you can play on the tablet.

The hotel has a toybox hire for families that includes board games, colouring and sticker books and bedtime stories. Simply ask at reception to use this fantastic service. You can also hire footballs for a kick in the park.

The hotel does not have a pool or gym on site, but guests have access to Next Generation Gym next door. Next Generation has a large indoor pool and an outdoor pool which the kids will love, so pack your bathers.

The onsite restaurant, Bespoke, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast menu includes a separate kid’s menu, and the incredible views from the restaurant are across the oval itself. There’s also a large screen showcasing South Australian landscapes that will keep the kids mesmerised.

With checkout at 11am, there’s plenty of time to explore the area. The hotel is easily accessible via car or public transport, with the train station and tram stops a short walk over the Torrens footbridge.
