2022 AFL Season in South Australia
Adelaide Crows and Port Power Home Games at Adelaide Oval
The 2022 AFL Premiership includes 22 matches across 23 rounds with five Thursday night matches in the first five rounds. The Round Three SA Showdown is also to be played on a Friday night for the first time. There will also be rivalries aplenty across the first six rounds.
For the first time since 2020, AFL football returns to the Northern Territory for three matches during the 2022 Toyota AFL Premiership Season with the Gold Coast SUNS to host back-to-back matches at TIO Stadium in Darwin against Hawthorn and North Melbourne during Round 11 and 12. Melbourne then host Port Adelaide at TIO Traeger Park in Alice Springs during Round 18.
After the 2014 $575 million redevelopment, Adelaide Oval boasts a 53,500 capacity. Fans enjoy the huge and vibrant atmosphere of the oval as they get to watch their favourite teams battle for the Premiership.
The showdowns, when both Adelaide teams face-off against each other, are traditionally Adelaide Oval’s biggest day each season.
