The South Australian Children’s Ballet Company will be performing “Aladdin and the Genie of Unlimited Wishes” for the 2016 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
In an exciting adaption of the classic story, Aladdin comes to life with the magic of the Genie, his faithful cat, and the kind hearted Princess Jasmine.
Aladdin and his furry friend, Kira, are traveling in search of food, fun and mischief. When they meet the folk of the town and hear that the well has run dry, and there is no water, they are very concerned. The beautiful Princess Jasmine is also worried about the plight of her people, and when Aladdin and Kira sneak into her garden she shares her concerns with Aladdin. A mysterious fortune teller arrives, and Princess Jasmine begs her to tell her what future awaits her and the people of her town. Aladdin can’t stop thinking about the beautiful Princess, and wonders if he could ever make her happy. He remembers a magic lamp with great powers, buried many years ago by his father. If he summoned the Genie and her magnificent powers, could she bring water to the town? Will they all live happily ever after?
The South Australian Children’s Ballet Company provides talented young South Australian dancers with the opportunity to perform a variety of dance styles and to introduce the world of classical and modern dance to its younger audiences.
