The iconic Bay to Birdwood is one of the world’s great historic motoring events and has been a standout fixture on the South Australian events calendar since 1980.
Witness an impressive parade of over 1,500 historic vehicles along the scenic 67-kilometre route, departing Barratt Reserve in West Beach for the National Motor Museum in Birdwood, nestled in the Adelaide Hills.
Choose your ideal viewing spot along the route to catch all the action, or make your way to the Finish Festival at the National Motor Museum. Immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere, enjoy live entertainment, and indulge in a day filled with motoring nostalgia.
Held annually, the Bay to Birdwood is a unique motoring event which attracts car enthusiasts from all over Australia parading their veteran, vintage, and classic vehicles on the streets and roads of Adelaide and surrounding suburbs.
Set to be a highlight for families, a very special guest will join this year’s RAA Bay to Birdwood – Red Wiggle, Caterina Mete! Caterina will travel in style from West Beach to Birdwood on Sunday 19 October 2025, waving to the crowd from a bright red 1974 Leyland ‘Stretched’ Mini Moke.She’ll then join the celebrations at the Finish Festival in Birdwood, where she’ll present the winners of the much-loved Fashions on the Field competition.
It is expected that 90,000 spectators will line the route to watch the motoring parade wind its way from Anzac Highway up Greenhill, Fullarton and North East Roads through Tea Tree Gully and the townships of Inglewood, Gumeracha before finishing in Birdwood.
FINISH FESTIVAL
Join RAA Bay to Birdwood entrants, as all 1500+ historic vehicles finish the run at the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. Soak up the wonderful atmosphere and be entertained, admire hundreds of rarely seen historic vehicles and talk to the owners. Enjoy quality regional produce, Adelaide Hills craft beer, wines and spirits plus delicious gourmet street food served by local food trucks.
Visitors are encouraged to don their best vintage clothing and enter the Fashions on the Field competition for best period-dress.
