Carnival of the Animals at Adelaide Zoo

Experience the magic of a live orchestra in the lush gardens of Adelaide Zoo. 

Elephant in the Room Productions and Adelaide Zoo present the Amicus String Quartet joined by acclaimed Adelaide musicians in a special outdoor concert series of Camille Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals and Danse Macabre, and Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf.

Roll out your picnic rug on the Central Lawns and experience the zoo by twilight. This family-friendly event is a great way to introduce the young or young at heart to classical music in an immersive setting.

Sit back and soak up the atmosphere while enjoying a Picnic Box or pick up a drink from the onsite bar.

Please note: this ticket offers admittance to Adelaide Zoo for the performance only. The zoo will not be open for animal viewing.

Ticket Price:

  • Adult (15 years and over) | $35
  • Concession/Child (students/seniors/4-14 year olds) | $30
  • Under 4s | FREE (require ticket)

Pre-order Picnic Box:

You can pre-order a delicious Picnic Box and enjoy a selection of goodies with family or friends. Simply add your Picnic Box to your cart when you book your tickets.  Or you can bring your own picnic.

Important Info:

  • Gates open at 6pm for a 7pm start
  • Performance runs for 1.5 hours until 8:30pm (no interval)
  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be a limited number of chairs available so you are encouraged to come early
  • Accessible seating available upon request (please contact 8267 3255 to arrange)
  • No BYO alcohol
  • Picnic Boxes are pre-order only and will be available for pick-up on the night
