Adelaide Zoo Celebrates 140 Years!
Presented by Adelaide Zoo (Zoos SA) along with the South Australian History Festival, celebrate 140 Years of Adelaide Zoo on Saturday 27 May 2023.
Join Giant Pandas Fu Ni and Wang Wang, Obi the Pygmy Hippopotamus, Kimya the giraffe and their feathered, furry and scaly pals at the biggest birthday party of the year!
Celebrate as Adelaide Zoo blows out 140 birthday candles and wonder at ‘the wild within’ by spending the day connecting with your favourite species and their keepers. Learn how Adelaide Zoo has evolved over the years into a modern zoo leading the way in conservation action yet has retained many of its historical residents and buildings including the original Elephant House and the Sir Thomas Elder Rotunda.
Take part in a history trail, see a time capsule, tree planting, keeper talks, and more. Dress up, wear a smile and prepare to party in Adelaide’s most iconic and historic conservation venue.
