Christmas Tree Farm | Chandlers Hill | South Australia

The Christmas Tree Farm at Chandlers Hill is the oldest farm in South Australia, providing Christmas trees since 1955.

Each year the farm opens from 24 November until 23 December and there is plenty to see and do for the whole family. As well as personally pick out your own fresh Christmas Tree, you can explore their acres of farmland at Chandlers Hill, take photos with their reindeer mascot, enjoy a tractor ride, pick up some gifts and decorations from the Gift Shop, and even feed some animals in the Petting Zoo.  You can also book a photo with Santa too.

The farm covers 40 acres, with 15 acres open to the public to explore between November and December each year. Surrounded by lush green Monetery pines, and with views stretching right down to Adelaide’s beaches, it really is a stunning place to explore.

The Monetery Pines are grown for the sole purpose of becoming Christmas Trees. This means they are specially pruned and trimmed throughout the year, making for very neat row formations of trees.

You can choose from trees of varying sizes in the Tree Shed Gift Shop.  To ensure their farm remains sustainable, they only cut and sell a select amount of trees each year. A friendly member of their staff can help to pick the perfect tree for you.

Once you have chosen your tree, they can also take care of delivery and set up for you (fees apply), so you don’t have to worry about how you are going to get your new tree home without damaging it.

Chandlers Hill Christmas Tree Farm also offers families the opportunity to have photos with Santa – dogs are welcome too! Santa sets up in his own cottage amongst the trees on the farm. Bookings are essential.  FIND OUT MORE HERE

There are photo opportunities all around the farm too, such as cute gnome statues and a reindeer with sleigh.

In the Tree Shed you will also find a selection of gifts, from hats, sweaters and soaps to bath gels and jewellery, as well as a wide selection of tree lights, baubles, stars, wreaths and more.  Their stock is different every year.  The baked goods such as cakes and puddings are fresh and traditionally made with all ingredients from South Australia.

The petting zoo is comprised of rescued farm animals that require a great deal of caring for. This is a fantastic opportunity for both kids and adults to get up close and personal with their furry friends, such as Snowflake and Eve, in a country setting.
