The Clarrie Eatts Reserve at Aldinga Beach is a great playspace located just a few steps from the beach.
Review by Adaire Prosser
If you can’t decide whether to head to the beach or playground, Aldinga Beach offers both! Located adjacent to the surf life saving club, the foreshore playground has a range of play equipment with a matching nautical theme.
There is a large play ship, complete with a hull, ladder and climbing ropes where kids can let their inner sailor or pirate free. There are great beach views from the top, and a slide to race down. Younger children may need assistance to climb.
Swings are always a favourite and there is a baby swing and net swing located at the playground. There is also a spring-loaded fish ride and a large whale that will fit 2-4 kids on it.
There is a sheltered BBQ area with benches, and nearby walking access to Silver Sands Beach. There is also drive on access to a different area of the same beach for a donation. Make sure you bring a spare set of clothes or swimmers so you can check out the amazing beach.
Things to Consider:
- The playground is unshaded – hats & sunscreen are a must.
- The carpark can get busy with beach goers and people lining up for drive on beach access.
- There is a section of the beach that is pedestrian only, this is directly in front of the playground/surf life saving club
Our favourite nearby coffee spots/cafes:
- Aldinga Bay Surf Life Saving Club is adjacent and has a restaraunt open 7 days (check website for opening hours)
- Pizzatecca has a pop-up takeaway venue located near the drive-on beach access and are open in the late afternoon-evenings (limited season – summer only)
Location:
The playground and carpark are located on the end of Norman Road, Aldinga Beach.
