Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival
The Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival is held on the Copper Coast in regional South Australia in the coastal towns of Wallaroo, Moonta and Kadina.
In 2017 the festival had a fresh new all ages approach and increased support from the community. With a record amount of associated activities put on by the community the festival has something to please everyone. Each year people dress as Cornish Jacks and Jennies, thousands of Cornish pasties are consumed and crowds fill the streets for the spectacle that is the maypole and furry dancing.
The Cavalcade of Cars & Motorcycles is a festival highlight with over 500 vintage cars and motorcycles travelling around the Copper Coast. Families can also enjoy street parades, concerts and Cornish ceremonies, markets, feasts and exhibitions. Perhaps try your hand at making a traditional Cornish Pasty – or just enjoy eating one at the many fabulous cafes and eateries available.
Entry is free, however it is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available at the event.
