Fešta – The Croatian Food & Wine Festival is an annual one day outdoor event held each November and 2013 will be the 10th consecutive year. Held at The Croatian Sports Centre SA Inc. in Gepps Cross, Fešta has always been a relaxed and casual family day out with a strong emphasis on delicious food and great entertainment. The availability of various regional Croatian cuisines, all cooked to authentic home-style recipes and techniques, is what sets Fešta apart from other food & wine festivals. It makes Fešta unique in a state famous for it’s food and wine festivals.
Fešta is run exclusively by volunteers, and continues to be the biggest event on the calendar for the Croatian community of South Australia. As well as the usual abundance of Croatian cuisine to savour, other highlights at this year’s event include:
- Croatian strings bands playing traditional Croatian music, local Croatian bands and singers
- Traditional Cooking Display with FREE sampling
- Special guest appearances by political, media and sporting personalities with Croatian links, including AFL
- FREE Face painting
- FREE children’s activities tent
- Amusement rides, side shows
- Spectacular fireworks display at 9:30pm
The entry price is $5 per person with children under 16 years free. For more details contact the Croatian Sports Centre SA Inc.’s Ema Matulic on 0457 361 002 or email festa@croatianfesta.org.au.

It’s nice to know how Australian Croats keep alive old country tradition. Looking these photos on this Festa is not only about food but also dances and national costumes. I am proud to be Croat.
