Flinders Chase National Park Centenary
National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia (NPWSSA) is celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Flinders Chase National Park. There will be free entry to Flinders Chase National Park on 12 of October, as well as camping discounts during October.
Flinders Chase National Park was the second national park to be declared in South Australia and is a place enjoyed by thousands of local and international visitors every year. The park plays a significant role in conservation, outdoor education, and tourism in Australia. Visitors can either stay for the day or pitch a tent in one of the many campgrounds for a truly immersive experience.
Located at the western end of Kangaroo Island, this park conserves a vast area of rugged wilderness and is the home to the world-famous geological landmarks – Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. The park is a haven for native wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos, koalas, platypus, echidnas, birds and reptiles and has brilliant displays of spring wildflowers.
There is so much to see and do with numerous walking trails, wild beaches and two lighthouses waiting to be explored. If you’re looking a true wilderness experience the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail is a must.
